Fees and Dues

PROPSECTIVE MEMBERS

Prospective Member Application and Processing Fee.  The application fee for new members is $30.

Genealogical Review Fee.  The Society assesses a fee of $40 to cover the expenses of genealogical verification for new or supplemental applications to the Maryland Society. Note that this fee does not cover genealogical research.

Dues. There are two options available for dues. Dues for an annual membership (which include MD Society and General Society dues) are $50/year. Dues for lifetime membership (which include MD Society and General Society dues) are a one-time payment of $470*.

*Prospective members should first mail their completed application and supporting documentation, along with a check for $70 to cover genealogical and processing fees (if you’re paying for a lifetime membership as a new member, the $70 is included), to Christopher Smithson at 9502 Perry Hall Blvd, Apt 104, Baltimore, MD 21236.

NOTE: Dues for prospective members should not be paid until your membership application has been processed and genealogical verification approved, and you have been notified to submit dues payment.

EXISTING MEMBERS

Annual Dues.  The annual dues shall be $50 which includes State and General Society dues for Maryland members. Dues must be paid before January 1 of the year and can be paid by mail (through the annual dues mailing) or over the Internet through the Society’s website.

Life Membership.  The payment at any time of $400 shall entitle the member so paying to a life membership. Life members shall be exempt from the obligation of paying annual dues.

Supplemental Applications. A one-time payment for a supplemental application for an additional ancestor is $75 which includes all fees.
